3 stars for a neat story line, cool sfx and a catchy look to the whole film. going in you know it's camp so i can't give this a serious critique. but the idea of young folks stuck on an island with giant insects is cool. the director deliberately goes for the low-budget look with stop-motion camera work and superimposing the actors against obvious cut-outs and photos. liked the clay dolls in the pincers of the giant insects! really enjoyable. some language. just a simple, short, shallow flick, a throw-back to old monster movies. Adam West (TV's Batman) plays a scientist named "Harry Hausen", a tribute to the father of stop-motion photography, Ray Harryhausen.

It was really horrible. Fifteen minutes in, the DVD was out.

This movie reminded me of a Godzilla movie back in the 70's when the kid dreams about godzilla and he's on this Island with Praying Mantis's. Well anyway. It was ok. Ofcourse Carmen looks sexy as always. Loved seeing Adam West. Lets hear it for Batman.
