Love Battlefield (2004)

This movie is about an ER nurse, Yui, and his girlfriend getting ready to go on a vacation to Europe. Unfortunately, their vehicle is stolen and Yui is kidnapped by criminals that need medical attention. At first, this movie seemed like it was going to be a romantic comedy. But after the first twenty minutes, it quickly turns into an action, suspense story. Unfortunately, there were two negatives to this release. The subtitles were poorly translated. And the picture quality was particularly dark, so you may want to turn up the brightness on your TV. There is a DTS audio option, but surround sound usage was minimal. As for extras, there is a promotional trailer, a text based "Databank" that includes cast and crew credits as well as a poorly translated synopsis, eight minutes of deleted scenes, including an alternate ending, a 7:45 minute "Making of" feature and two Karaoke music videos. Except for the promotional trailer, none of the other extras display English subtitles. Recommended.
