Dream On [TV Series] (1990)

I saw this series when it first rolled on HBO, and remember the nudity and old-movie cutaways. But on further review, I didn't remember the heart that is indeed part of this series. I would have given at least four stars, but there are no extras other than Landis' short intro. Where's the remaining seasons?

Dream on features a newly divorced man (Martin) getting back on the dating scene. To make things complicated he is still in love with his ex-wife. The show uses old black and white tv clips to descibe what the main character is thinking ot feeling with great results. When he is about to reach sexual climax a old space shuttle launch may be shown. If a ugly woman comes on to him they get old zoo footage of some wild animal on the screen. While sometimes crude the images always made me laugh. Someone must have had to look though hours of old tv shows to get just the right clip. Like early shows on HBO this features sexual and crazy dating situations including a pyscho lover trying to kill the main character to getting caught smoking weed by your teenage son. I t may be a bit dated but well worth the rental.
