Great stories do not necessarily make great movies... An intriguing tale of a manipulative lawyer who blackmails and extorts his wealthy and well-placed clientele at their moment of weakness. A seemingly stereotypical role for Spader. A surprise "Dark Shadows" actor also appears. Worthy, but requires a very patient audience.

Really disapointed in this one, James Spader is the only character in this movie worth watching, can't believe He did this film!

This did not in any way "suspend disbelief". James Spader is a good bad guy, but the story line was absolutely going nowhere for the whole time. Very weak plot. C grade.
