Watched it in French with the subtitles. It's is as another reviewer has written, a bit more 'real' to the urban gangster. Not the Hollywood type movie that typically portreys Italians as the gangsters being chased by the FBI. This never even includes the cops, just turf wars between bosses. I thought it was a movie worth watching. I would disagree that the English subtitles are not accurate to the actual spoken French.

This movie is very "french" as in it deals with the life of gangs in the suburbs around Paris. It has a touch of reality that I actualy prefer to most hollywood's fake sugar coated type of movie. Or worse the laughable and predicatable black gangsta movies. It's a very good movie if you take the time to apreciate the excellent acting and the tragic story behind it. Also you gotta understand french to truely apreciate this movie as the US dubbed version sucked and the subtitles were weak and inacurate. It's like watching the movie at 45% of its potential.

forget it, not worth the time, was really boring, not much gangster action.. the dubbed englich version was poorly dubbed, stick to american gangster flicks, not french or english
