The Strokes: New York Stories (2003)

The Strokes: New York Stories (2003)
Member Rating:
Coming seemingly out of nowhere in 2000, the Strokes were a savvy garage band from New York City, who were embraced by a handful of British music writers, thanks to the rough but energetic sound of their debut single. A year later, the Strokes were one of the most talked-about bands on both sides of the Atlantic, and their album Is This It? was topping critics' Ten Best lists. The Strokes: New York Stories is an unauthorized account of how the band came together and how they found success on their own terms. Please note that this release was produced without the participation of the Strokes or their record company and features no music or performances from the group. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

This film is ok. It gives you an overview of the whole Strokes mythology; how they were hailed as the "saviors" of rock and first hand accounts by other bands and friends of how they came up. Mostly, it's full of unknown people who claim to be "in" with the strokes, bringing them down. Also there is no music by the strokes, just some imitation stuff and no footage of them, just standard stock stuff and photos.
