I was disappointed by the treatment of what was a quite good and interesting premise. This caper film might have been very good based on the unusual "twists" in the story, especially the idea of amateur, gamesters-at-crime getting in way over their heads with a crime boss and his gang. The kids get deeper and deeper into a mess and it even appears that one of them is swinging over into True Crime, but . . . Well, what wrecks it all for me is the unconvincing casting/acting of the love-interest twosome--amateur city escapees, and never convincing in their characters. Poor timing and emoting. The story dragged ponderously during the first half and was most daunting when the kids were engaged in inane byplay and silly dialog. Fortunately they had a pretty wiley bad guy/good actor--the crime lord--to hold them together in the transition to the "caper" and sting finale. Least rivetting film--except for some good moments at the end--in a while. jaime
