Member Rating:
A woman endures the painful birth of her child. Two doctors argue about the ethics of saving the horribly malformed child's life. Years later, a nurse is found brutally tortured and murdered, hundreds of syringes plunged into her, and Buckley Clarke (Lauren Holly), a tough homicide cop, is assigned the case. The victim's brother, Sam Brown (Robert Patrick), is a reclusive wilderness tracker living in Alaska. He gets word of the crime and goes to San Francisco to undertake his own investigation. At first, Clarke is dismissive of Brown, but she's soon forced to acknowledge his skill at finding clues and tracking his prey; seeing that she can't get rid of him anyway, she allows him to participate in the investigation. Soon, other victims turn up in similar conditions, and the FBI becomes involved, convinced that there's a serial killer on the loose. But Clarke eventually realizes that the victims are not being chosen at random. They all share a terrifying connection. Despite their disparate backgrounds, Clarke and Brown grow increasingly attracted to one another as they combine their talents to determine the killer's identity. But the killer soon learns that the intrepid pair is closing in, and the hunters become the prey. I truly enjoyed this movie. It had a different kind of a plot to it. Definitely held my attention. And as serial killers go--this killer had a different style "and" ailments. The main actors were good in their roles. And an unsual form of finding a serial killer was into play. I was a little disappointed in the ending--only because of what is left out--in a way--but the storyline itself does answer it if you think back. I couldn't help thinking that I'd like to see this as a tv series. I liked the educational part of it too. Frances

Liked the movie a lot, but sadly, I figured it out in the first 5 minutes. There was a lot of suspense after that, but the story's start kinda wrecked the plot. I enjoyed the cast and sexual tension, but Lauren Holly is not very compelling in this, as a cop. I kept me entertained, but I wouldn't watch it again.

This is one of those thrillers that makes its main hero look smart by making everyone around them brain damanged. Such is the case with this film where Robert Patrick plays a sherlock holmes kind of tracker, and the only way this film can show his tracking powers is by zooming in and out on random objects that tell him what he needs to know. Anyway, this movie gets quite boring and its annoying to see a freak with a shotgun dismantle a trained SWAT team so easily. So yea, thumbs down, avoid this movie, not the worst I have ever seen but cant think of any reason to see it.
