If you haven't tried this series, the only warning I have is that it is addictive. These characters are intensely real. The acting and photography are superb. Love, Death, the American Way of Life, relationships, sexuality from all points of view. I didn't watch it when it was new; in many ways, this is better so you don't have to wait until next week. The downside is you find yourself saying, "We can watch one more episode tonight." This is one of the very few honest portrayals of a committed gay relationship I have seen. This show is a superb magic mirror where we terminally-fated humans get to see ourselves reflected in the lives of these characters, that seem after a while not quite so fictional, but more like people we know.

This is a heartwarming, painful, and beautiful sketch of one american family's trials in love, life, and death. Each character is multi-faceted, complex, and exhibits real human emotion. The topics for discussion are mature and reflective, as they are almost always dealing with the gray areas in life, giving the audience much to think about long after turning off the DVD Player. A mature scope, excellent writing, and a talented cast makes Six Feet Under one of the best series I've ever watched.

Great show. Very dark and very often crosses that line of where you are comfortable watching. Still a great cast and strong production values.
