It's a coming of age story with a whole lot of teen angst. And there's occasional nudity .... it's a French film, after all. The plot is well-developed and there's an ending that concludes the story (unlike some French flicks). Vincent is a popular, successful high school student. He's the #1 swimmer and his team mates revere him until .... he's outed. His standing plummets as students ridicule and ostracise him. His swim team mates are particularly tough on him. Riddled with loneliness and fear, he's forced to face his homosexuality as a reality, while reeling from the mass rejection at school. Vincent wakes up every morning afraid to go to school. Other things happen (good and bad) that keeps the plot moving. If you like French films, I think you'll like this. I did.

How much pain, heartache, misunderstanding(s) would be adverted if life came close to being almost a level playing field as presented here. Tied in with just growing up and all the other decisions that come during this time period. Then again, it could be worse and happen when you are thirty, fourty or fifty years old or even older.
