Excellent family melodrama on the topic of divorce highlighted by the on screen chemistry between veteran actors Libertad Lamarque and Arturo de Cordova. Miss Lamarque stops the show singing some of the most popular tunes in the Latin America songbook supported by cameo appearances of composers Agustin Lara, Consuelo Velazquez and Jose Alfredo Jimenez. Martha Mijares adds youthful beauty to the proceedings as the daughter caught up in the middle of her parents breakup. However this classy production originally shot in wide-screen and Eastmancolor, is all lost in this DVD by Laguna Films which presents the movie in full screen in a lack-luster, dark black and white! A crime and an insult to consumers who are left wondering how Laguna Films can get away with this and find major distribution in Blockbuster and other venues. Consumers should retaliate by not buying or renting this title.
