Midnight Madness (1980)

Midnight Madness (1980)
Member Rating:
The crux of this limited, juvenile comedy is a complex game that begins at midnight and ends by morning. Of main interest is the fact that a young Michael J. Fox plays one of the students involved in the game. Leon (Alan Solomon) has spent a year creating the game and practically needs that long to convince his fellow students to play it. Eventually he wins out, and the various teams of classic stereotypes -- the nerd, the well-groomed hero, the obnoxious sorority sister, the easily duped freshman, and others -- all converge on Los Angeles at midnight. Their treks take them through the Griffith Observatory which because of those odd hours astronomers keep, could conceivably be open. Other locales are interestingly open too, apparently Los Angeles never sleeps. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

Hey I am sorry for all of you who don't know a good movie when you see one. I understand that it is an old one and that the acting could have been better, but the story line was great. I seen this movie over20 years ago and it has always stayed in my head as if i saw it yesterday. I just loved it back then and still do to this day. As a child watching it was exciting and fun. I now have the privliage to show it to my children and laugh along with them to something I experianced as a child. I give this movie a great BIG thumbs up!

Yes, a "B" movie, thats what its all about. All I can say is see the cast in this movie and find out where they went from here. Micheal J Fox - Back To The Future David Naughton - American Werefolf In London Eddie Deezen - Well known for Cartoon Voiceovers Paul Reubens - Pee Wee! The guy from Sienfeld....Forgot his name? If you have see any 2005 "Robot Chicken" episodes on Cartoon Network they even spoofed this movie a few times. The movie is a huge college scavenger hunt with lots of "character" or stereo-typing of groups. The hunt for the clues are entertaining. Again, I grew up with this movie and its fun to watch with a bunch of friends. The sex jokes are dorky but fun. The race around California [I dont know what city?] you see a lot of POP culture. Even an old video arcade! Check it out...Enjoy it!

I agree with Jazmin- I remember watching this when I was little and it has stayed with me also. Don't know why exactly, I just remember finding it exciting and funny. I'll never forgot the "melons" clue! I think my husband will enjoy it too! I looked for it a few ago and couldn't find it so I'm happy to be able to watch it . I think almost everyone can relate to it cause don't we all want to go on a mystery chase at least once? It founds fun to me!
