I rented this movie with the greatest of hopes. I couldn't get my finger off the fast forward button. It was as lame as they get. Want to see a better movie with similar theme, get The Commitments. Highly recommended.

It's not without a certain charm. But throughout I found myself not caring about the characters, the relationships, or whether or not the band "made it" or not. There are some funny moments and the characters do have a certain charm that kept me from turning it off. But not enough charm to keep me from checking my watch every 10 minutes or so. Not a bad concept. Ultimately though, not an engaging execution. Sorry guys. Nice try, but the movie is about as good as the band in the movie...

I really lked this one. An enjoyable, entertaining movie that had me laughing several times and smiling through most of it. It has it's flaws, some big ones, but some of the characters are interestingly ecentric, some very funny moments and a good story arc helped to balance things out. I never once felt this movie was trying to be edgy. It was simply trying, and suceeding - mostly - to be a light-hearted comedy.
