Synopsis of The Warrior Queen

The legend of ancient British queen Boudicca (more popularly known as Boadicea) was vividly reenacted in this six-episode British drama series. Sian Philips starred as the fearless Boudicca, who with a loyal band of followers (200,000 or thereabouts, according to the historian Tacitus) valiantly fended off the island's Roman conquerors during the Iceni Rebellion of 60 A.D. Prominent among the supporting players was Nigel Hawthorne, some two decades removed from his internationally successful film triumph The Madness of King George.
