Synopsis of The Other Side of the Sea
Michelle Lee stars in this critically panned action yarn that recalls the 1993 vehicle Black Morning Glory. Yip Man-sau is a beautiful Vietnamese illegal alien making ends meet as a hired gun. After a particularly grisly hit, she vows to get out of the business, retiring to the remote outlying island of Tai-O. There she falls in love with a handsome shop owner and all seems well until her former employers order her dead, fearing that she knows too much. In the ensuing gunfight -- against an old lover, no less -- she gets injured and winds up in hospital. When the thugs figure out where she is, they chase her back to Tai-O where she and her new beau are forced to fight for their lives. ~ Jonathan Crow, All Movie Guide
