The Other Side of the Sea (1994)

The Other Side of the Sea (1994)
Michelle Lee stars in this critically panned action yarn that recalls the 1993 vehicle Black Morning Glory. Yip Man-sau is a beautiful Vietnamese illegal alien making ends meet as a hired gun. After a particularly grisly hit, she vows to get out of the business, retiring to the remote outlying island of Tai-O. There she falls in love with a handsome shop owner and all seems well until her former employers order her dead, fearing that she knows too much. In the ensuing gunfight -- against an old lover, no less -- she gets injured and winds up in hospital. When the thugs figure out where she is, they chase her back to Tai-O where she and her new beau are forced to fight for their lives. ~ Jonathan Crow, Rovi
