When her mother was kidnapped by villainous crime kingpin Ricky Valesi (Kenneth Cranham), British police inspector Anne Warwick (Phyllis Logan) turned to the National Crime Squad for assistance. Squad leader John Bourne (David Suchet) made it his personal mission to return Anne's mother safely, for reasons that went far beyond the call of duty.
