Somewhat boring. Not as intellectually stimulating as other Le Carre stories (eg., Tinker, Tailor...)

Interesting to see Anthony Hopkins so young. Resembles Russell Crowe. However, the movie is bleak and disjointed with an unhappy ending.

Okay..I don't know the book...but watching this movie I kept thinking someone had edited out huge chunks of the plotline. Disjointed and the worst James Dean impression in the history of spy thrillers from our leading infiltrator. Wow!
