Directed by Florent E. Siri, Nid De Guepes chronicles the unlikey cooperation between a band of thieves and an elite group of judicial escorts. Despite extensive security, Nexhep's (Infanti) armed flunkies stage a violent diversion, and the escorts end up in the same warehouse where some young criminals are attempting to steal truckloads of expensive computers. Geesh! I think that first guy must be the director's dad or something! I really liked this movie and would recommend it to anyone who likes shoot 'em ups or crime dramas. It is not too gorey and kinda goes with a "somethings are better left unsaid" approach. This movie is worth the rental for its orginial story line and remarkable characters. If you are tired of the era of the remake movies and are looking for something different with lots of gunplay, The Nest is a good choice in my opinion.

THE NEST is the best--the best action film in maybe a decade, as well as providing the best acting ensemble gathered for this kind of genre film. The tension builds to an enormous level then explodes and doesn't diminish until the sudden, and unusually reticent, ending. The dialog is lean--no wasted verbiage--and the "look" of the movie is first-class all the way. French writer/director Florent Emilio Siri also made last year's "Hostage" with Bruce Willis, but this one is the better film. Siri likes pitting several groups--good, bad and in-between--against each other, and the result is ever so much more fun and interesting than your typical hero-vs-villain routine. It’s a shame "The Nest" never saw an American theatrical release, but it sure comes as a welcome treat on DVD--providing thrills and surprises aplenty. Don't miss. (And don't worry about the French subtitles. There's not all that much dialog, anyway.)

One of the most exciting and original action-crime dramas to come along in many years. A real treat with a great ensemble cast, slick action, a unique story line, and done at a quick and tensioned pace designed to keep you on edge. Although lean on dialog, and ending in a somewhat predictable—albeit exciting--conclusion. THE NEST is pure entertainment and beats the heck out of the majority of Hollywood actions flicks we see today. This is one foreign film action movie I intend to purchase for my own movie collection.
