Kuei Chi hung directs this grim kung-fu horror flick about two million taels worth of gold bars that are stolen from a royal treasure. Ambitious Manchu cop Leng (Chen Kuan-tai) leads a company of troops into the hinterland in search of the money. He discovers some clues in a remote abandoned temple. He also learns that his less-than-honest rival Fan Jin-diao (Jason Pai Piao) is also pursuing the same booty, but for his own private purse, not that of the emperor.
