Member Rating:
Marcel Carne and Jacques Prevert's classic of French poetic realism stars Jean Gabin in one of his most famous roles as Francois, a rough, barrel-chested loner who hides out in his apartment awaiting for the police to arrive. This movie is way ahead of its time. It's a fine look into love, jealousy, and how any combination of the two can be a bad mix. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Jean Gabin is excellent as the star of this drama. The themes explored have been repeated in many other films but are fresh here because of Gabin.
