Jemma Redgrave returns as determined young physician Eleanor Bramwell in this five-part miniseries, the third in the popular Bramwell series. Set in London before the dawn of the 20th century, Dr. Bramwell's work among the less privileged forces her to deal with the thorny issues of spousal abuse, teenage girls forced into prostitution, and a possible epidemic that is spreading unchecked. Bramwell must also confront common prejudices against women in the medical profession, as well as deal with a budding romance with one of her colleagues.
