I played both parasite eve 1 and two for the playstation and I loved them both (I also enjoy anime). I thought I would rent this and check it out. Let me mention a few things: Other than the basic premise, it has nothing to do with the video game series. The characters and stories are COMPLETELY different. If you liked the video game, chances are this movie will bore you too tears. The movie is very slow paced and way too long. The movie didn't help me understand the game series any better, if anything the games had more detailed story lines. One last note: if you aren't even a fan of the video games, then you will NOT enjoy this movie. If you liked the video games, this movie doesn't offer anything compelling either.

I am still not sure if it is a good movie or an average "B" flick. Acting and filming were good as were the special effects. It was also the best dubbing I've seen in a Japan movie. Story line is told with the over intense emotion of a Godzilla flick. If you love Japanese games and movies a must see. If you like a situation thriller, not boring, not great.

I remember when i first saw this movie i was like no way a movie about Parasite Eve, Then i watched it and was blown away by how they added so much more back story to the game, even though it wasnt based on the game but the book Sena Hideaki wrote. I Really liked this movie alot, and had to watch it a few times to make sure i got everything. Its worth the rental and even a spot in the DVD libary for any Sci-Fi Fan, expecialy if you like foreign movies.
