Glen Close is miscast. Cavorting like a child who has never been in love before seems ridiculous for a woman of her age and grace. If you're going to make the main characters older, adjust the choreography accordingly. If you're going to sing a song about washing a man out of your hair, it might help to have hair -- plus Close's haircut was not period. Finally, Close's voice doesn't have the range needed to sing the score. Save yourself and just watch the original.

Although this doesn't hold a candle to the original film, it was still quite enjoyable. Glenn Close & Harry Connick Jr. are too old play these parts on screen. They are, however, good actors and it's an enjoyable film. The scenery is fantastic and the music is familiar and fun. Don't expect the original, but it's still a good ride.
