Synopsis of Kaiserliebchen
Kaiserliebchen (The Kaiser's Sweetheart) is set sometime in the late 19th century. Travelling under an assumed named, Kaiser Joseph (played by opera star Walter Janssen) falls in love with a rural postmistress (Liane Haid). Even after his identity is revealed, the Kaiser swears eternal devotion to the dewy-eyed girl. Ultimately, both realize that the welfare of the nation is far more important than the problems of two little people, so hero and heroine bid a sad but fond farewell to one another.
