If you know the story of Jane Eyre and are looking for a movie that closely follows the book you will be sadly dissapointed by this version. However, if you are looking for something to make you laugh, this is the movie!! It is so far from being Jane Eyre that the whole thing becomes almost like a parody or a big joke. I could not stop laughing at how ridiculous the whole thing was so if nothing else it was an hour of amusement. If you want a version that closely follows the book go get the 1983 version or better yet wait until the newest 2006 version comes out, those are by far better at telling the wonderful story of Jane Eyre. If you simply love everything to do with Jane Eyre and want some good giggles then this movie may fit the bill!!

Like the other reviewers I was so disappointed by this version! They totally changed Jane's character and most key points in the book, this really lives up to "based on". That aside, the acting was okay but I was so distracted by the lack of story and how it is so not Jane Eyre!! I fast forwarded through 95% of it. What a waste of time.

This was probably the stupidest movie I've ever seen. It's nothing like the book at all. I didn't even watch the whole thing because it was so boring. Please don't waste your time with this movie!
