Not as good as other Disney live action adventures like 20,000 Leagues, and obviously working on a lower budget, the movie still manages to be colorful and amusing at times, with some good action scenes in the second half. David Hartman gives a wooden lead performance while co-star Donald Sinden overacts to compensate. Note on the disc, this is NOT the 30th Anniversary Ed. from Disney Video (at least the copy I got wasn't) in proper 1:85:1 format,; but the earlier Anchor Bay edition in 1:66:1 frame with absolutely no extras.

Lots of adventure: flying in a blimp, volcanoes, attacking whales, Vikings, and a secret land at the North Pole. Reminded me of another Disney great, Search of the Castaways.

I wanted to see this as a kid in the 1970's and finally got around to seeing it. This is an old school fantasy with a fantastic airship that went on great voyages. It will bring out the kid in you again.
