Member Rating:
A mixed-race couple confront prejudice on both sides of the color line, as well as the uphill battle of making it in the big city, in this independent urban drama. Debbie (Nicki Richards) and Tony (Dale Resteghini) are a couple in their early twenties who met while living in a suburb outside Boston. Debbie is African-American and Tony is white, but both believe that race doesn't have to be an issue if two people love and respect one another. But when Debbie and Tony move to New York City to pursue their careers -- Debbie wants to be a singer and Tony is a struggling actor -- they discover not everyone embraces their happiness with open arms. Debbie's family doesn't approve of her relationship with Tony, while Tony becomes the target of a radical Black Nationalist group who believe inter-racial relationships are a slap in the face to African-American culture. Money soon becomes short for the couple and an attempt to make some easy cash goes wrong, with Tony landing in jail. As Tony struggles to win his freedom, Debbie meets a good looking black man from the neighborhood and finds herself wondering if her relationship with Tony is worth all the trouble. Colorz of Rage also features hip-hop star Redman and R&B singer Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
