Reta Shaw guest stars as Mrs. Badderly, the "stage mother from Hell." To advance the career of her daughter Fern (Kelly Jean Peters, Mrs. Badderly arranges to pair Fern with Davy in a talent contest -- a move that threatens to split up the Monkees.
