Part of the U.K. detective series Cracker, "To Be a Somebody" originally aired in three parts in October of 1994. Robert Carlyle plays Albie Kinsella, an average guy who goes crazy after he loses his father, wife, and child. He attempts to kill a Pakistani store clerk, a university professor, and a news reporter. D.C.I. David Bilborough (Christopher Eccleston) tries to track him down, but ends up meeting his own fate. Albie continues his ruthless killing spree, leading up to a bomb threat at the police station. After a violent run-in with DS Jimmy Beck (Lorcan Cranitch), Albie is finally interrogated by Fitz (Robbie Coltrane). Meanwhile, Fitz loses money gambling, suffers from a heart attack, and carries on his marital problems with Judith (Barbara Flynn). ~ Andrea LeVasseur, Rovi
