Synopsis of Fooling With Words
At the close of the 20th century, poetry enjoyed a resurgence of interest, with poets gathering at the White House and at the popular poetry slams featuring young people belting out their poems at responsive audiences. Fooling With Words With Bill Moyers, a PBS-produced film, depicts the action at the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival, known as the "Woodstock of Poetry." The event is covered much like a professional sports event, with cameras tracking the performing poets and the spectators' reactions. The poetry featured ranges from the haunting to rhythmic African to wry to witty. ~ Alice Day, All Movie Guide
