Conserving America: The Rivers confronts the fact that only 1 percent of the nation's rivers are protected by the Federal Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, leaving much of our waterway system vulnerable to the detrimental effects of dams, channelization and industrial development. Learn what citizens are doing along the Little Pee Dee in South Carolina, Virginia's Rappahannock and rivers in western Washington state, the Rio Grande in Texas and Maine's Penobscot.
