He Knows You're Alone (1980)

He Knows You're Alone (1980)
Member Rating:
In this fairly frightening slasher-horror film, sweet young Amy Jensen (Caitlin O'Heaney) and her friends decide to all get married together. Unfortunately, all the guys go on vacation, leaving the women at the mercy of a psychotic killer (Tom Rolfing) who goes after brides with a big knife. Amy must seek help from an obsessed cop (Lewis Arlt) and her nerdy friend (Don Scardino) who works at a morgue. The familiar supporting cast includes Tom Hanks in his big-screen debut, and '80s standbys Russell Todd, Paul Gleason, and Dana Barron. This one has some scary moments despite the clichéd plot and the obligatory severed head in a fishbowl, especially a stalking scene in a tailor's shop and the tense morgue chase at the end. The most memorable sequence, involving a murder at a movie theater, was later restaged almost shot-by-shot in Scream 2 (1997). ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi

Ok, so I love scary movies. This wasn't a really scary movie however. The plot was really weak. The movie did resemble HALLOWEEN a lot. Many of the same screen shots (walking down the street, looking out window and seeing killer standing by bushes in yard, etc). The 'music' is a wannabe Halloween soundtrack too. But it doesn't come near Halloweens' scariness. It's funny to see an early Tom Hanks though for a few minutes. All in all, it's not a horrible movie, and it takes a while to get into it, but I would just rent Halloween instead if you're looking to be scared.

I didn't enjoy this movie that much. Thought it was kinda boring and not scary at all. They shoulda gone into a little more background on the killer. The death scenes are very weak too. Who dies that fast from getting a switch blade in the back that went through a movie theater seat? I think I liked the flick the girls were watching in the movie theater in the beginning better than the actual movie.

Blood: 0 Cheese Factor: 5 Acting: 1 1/2 Overall: 1 1/2 I had heard only positive takes on this film so when I saw it and it sucked that stunk! We've seen this horror moive twenty million times over. And sometimes yes horror movies can be full of cliches and cheese factor and still come out being a good film, however this is not that film. Slow, dull, long winded, just a couple words that come to mind when I think about this film. It copies every classic and gives no blood, DONT DO IT! AVOID THIS FILM!
