This is a fun, action-packed fantasy with lots of magic and mythical creatures. It's great for all audiences if you can get over the cheese, obvious bad accent by the lead actor and stop-motion animation. Several of the supporting actors are surprisingly well-acted and fun to watch. This movie takes you on a memorable, mythical journey. The lead actress gives one of the worst performances I've ever seen, but good lord is she beautiful! This is one of the better of the Harryhausen animation films from this time.

This is an old fashioned fantasy adventure aided by the fine stop motion special effects pioneered by Ray Harryhausen. It is one of his better movies and a fun way to lose yourself for a while as you go on this magical "Arabian nights" like odyssey. Tom Baker of Dr. Who fame is notably excellent as the mysterious villain called Koura. Finally, Caroline Munro is absolutely gorgeous as the slave girl. If you are a fan of magical fantasies this is a must see. Just remember it's 39 years old.
