From my count, Stephen Chow has done three movies playing a "lawyer" (technically speaking, his role is more like a paralegal than lawyer) in ancient china. Though this one mayn't be the best of them, however it's unique in a way that it's a lot more realistic than the others. For one thing, there's almost no action in this film, as the story happened much closer to the modern time. Best parts of this film is the chemistry/dialog between Stephen Chow and Karen Mok, which mentions the issue of immigration/Out-of-country school/board about marriage/relationships. Plus, there are a few funny scenes between Chow and Eric Kot.
