Synopsis of With Hand and Heart
Explore the world of American Indian art in this video about the Southwestern Native Americans and the crafts they create. The artists come up with inspiring, vibrant designs and color combinations to match the beauty and lushness of the landscape of this region. Each design usually has some form of religious significance, but there is also a cultural symbolism that stands as a sign of where and how these people live and there might even be a personal meaning drawn or molded into these crafts. You will see blankets woven and vases and bowls formed, among other fascinating artistic, yet useful items. This documentary was filmed in the communities of the Hohokan, Mogollan, and Anasazi Indians in New Mexico and Arizona. ~ Cecilia Cygnar, Rovi
