His only friend is a 27-year-old ex-sailor named Erik (Johan Widerberg), who brags about his success with women and takes advantage of Olof's generous nature. I adored this movie. Very tender romantic movie with some wonderful steamy scenes. I didn't want it to end. The scenery and music were hauntingly beautiful. Rent it!

A sweet movie for grown-ups, but not appropriate for kids or teenagers; good picture of Swedish farm life of the 1950s.

A great romance movie. Touching, gentle, and with a great ending. The Swedish scenery is beautiful as well as the language. The characters are pretty well-developed and wonderful.
