This was well written and the acting superb. I have never seen Blair Underwood in such a role he was great. A good look into family life of black Americans. Nice to see a good family film about us. Cicely Dyson is particular about movies that she makes, and they are usually very good. This one is no different. Queen Latifah has developed the same reputation, she has not disappointed me yet in a film.

You see things that had happened in the South, that unfortunately still today is happening, but not just in the South. The racism and prejudices that people have, just because you are different from them is sad. This story is about a strong black woman who was uneducated, but knew what was needed for her family and what needed to be done to keep them together. She never gave up. This movie teaches us today how we need to let things go, be a family and look pass people racism and prejudices. See this movie. You will enjoy it.
