This is such a touching story of old Ireland and the unfortunate situations that presented themselves to people. If any one has an older family member with Irish history to share, they know this was a true to life situation. The scenery and detail was beautiful. This was one of my favorite movies.

This was a beautiful story - well told and well acted - and beautifully filmed. In searching for the truth about his father - you find that (like most of us) the son played by James Caan was looking for some truths about himself. The search proves to be bittersweet but still worth the search. Wonderful movie told from the heart.

This is a very poignant story about life in a small town in Ireland in the 1930's I believe. It shows the strong influence of the Catholic church on the lives of the people and the ignorance associated with it. A great movie!
