Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! What can one say? What does one get when one puts together a GLORIOUS Stephen Sondheim score and a cast of STELLAR performers doing what they do BEST? What you get is an evening of pure THEATRICAL MAGIC--to be sure! Although presented in a staged, concert-style production, all of the GLORIOUS and WONDROUS components of Sondheim's hit, "FOLLIES," remains in tact. From the opening strains of "BEAUTIFUL GIRLS" to the haunting conclusion of "LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE," All is THRILLING and SPELL-BINDING, indeed! This is one NOT to miss--to be sure! If you love both the THEATRE and STEPHEN SONDHEIM, you OWE it to yourself to rent this DELIGHTFUL evening of entertainment!

I've had the recording for years but didn't know there was a video of this historic concert. The music is wonderful; one of Sondheim's best. After recently seeing "Company" on the screen, this was a terrice addition. To think it was filmed 25 years ago is amazing. The music and performances are outstanding. One sad aspect was viewing Lee Remick is all her lovliness performing in "Follies."
