Intensity (1997)
Member Rating:
Based on a book by Dean Koontz, who also served as one of the executive producers, this Canadian telefilm directed by Yves Simoneau (Mother's Boys) concerns a young psychology student named Chyna Shepherd. She's played by Molly Parker (who was so wonderful in the 1996 cult film Kissed) as a troubled woman with a frightening past, which is seen in disturbing flashbacks. Chyna attempts to exorcise her own demons by rescuing a 15-year-old girl named Ariel (Tori Paul) from the brilliant but completely insane serial killer Edgler Vess (John C. McGinley). Vess has kidnapped Ariel and is holding her captive in his remote cabin, and only Chyna can save her. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi

I found this movie extremely interesting. This movie is fairly close to the excellent novel by Dean Koontz. John McGinley plays a serial killer chilling well. And Molly Parker was very believable as the frighted heroine. I only wish I could find this movie on DVD. Infact, I actually do not believe it has even been released on VHS. I have seen this move play on the Mystery Channel and have always wished I could purchase the film.

This is a great movie. Why Blockbuster does not carry it, is a mystery to me.... John McGinley's acting is so great in this movie....keeps you on the edge of your couch! If you find this movie locally, rent it! Blockbuster, please get a copy of this!!!!

W O W ! John McGinley terrified me ages ago when I saw this film, as he plays a very realistic and creepy psycho. This is an excellent made-for-tv movie with a crazy ending. It is as good as Dean Koontz's book by the same name. I hope that Blockbuster will start renting this movie out sometime soon, I'd love to see it again!
