This could have been a good movie, instead it was filled with unnecessary attempts at pick pocketing. Young man falling for the older man would have worked well also, but as usual, this too was marred by the introduction of the "daughter", who was totally unnecessary to this story. Zorbel and Karl were just too grubby and unkept to be of interest to anyone. Rudolf was a pleasant addition, although the stealing was not needed. Rudolf was sexy and sensual and should have at least has a love interest that was clean and kept. Again, the daughter just distracted from the story. I would not rent this movie again and would not recommend it for renting or purchasing.

The potential storyline is great: young man falls for father and daughter. It's lost here, though, among artificial thieve's grittiness and an endless series of theft attempts which pass for story. The characters are mostly really horrible to each other most of the time and fight through the whole movie. It's not very interesting and seems pretty long. It's okay to see, but don't expect great things. There are many better movies than this like Km.0, Fluffer, Leaving Metropolis, even The Man I Love. Some of these aren't great either, but they beat the pants of this dud.

The Trio, with its tacky backdrop of trailer parks, inner-city malls, fast-food stalls and carnivals, are tacky but the performances are all fine here and the characters are likeable losers. In the end the movie is very predictable and boring.
