Obsession is a typically European-flavor movie in that it is quirky-- & I like quirky, eccentric people & plots. So, this was right up my alley. Daniel Craig plays John McHale,a man who is to be deported after a run-in with Berlin police while trying to assist an elderly shoplifter. Enter Miriam (Heike Makatsch) who, in turn, tries to rescue John from the legal system. John & Miriam develop feelings for each other despite the fact that she already has a man. He pursues her which she alternately discourages & encourages. The scenes between John & Miriam in France are sexy, touching & sensuous. Footnote: Daniel & Heike, in reality, were involved for several years.

Good acting wasted on a messy and rambling plot. Beautiful locations and good cast. Craig sports the bluest eyes..
