I suspect the bad reviews here are because the reviewers rented it because of Iron Man or expecting soft porn. This is a thoughtful little bit of theater with three very charismatic actors who share a nice chemistry. And I do mean theater--it feels like a filmed stage play. The humor is subtle and very dry. When you add the fact that there is only one small explosion, the bad reviews here don't surprise me (even though that explosion leads to the funniest moment in the film). It's actually kind of French--Hollywood Eric Rohmer. This is a high compliment coming from me (and if Mr. Toback reads this I'm sure he won't mind). But for many, Rohmer's films are like watching paint dry because "they're just about people talking." While this isn't true, it's all those people perceive, so it's certainly true for them. Before you rent this movie I would caution you to not only consider all the reviews, but who is writing them, or you may be disappointed.

I found this movie to have good potential. The ending was quite horrible. But, the characters went through a full range of emotions, and the movie was humerus exciting and dramatic all at the same time. Had the ending been better and had the movie been more complete I think I wouldn't have felt so unfulfilled after watching it. But I would say that I liked it a lot especially while watching it. I will watch it again in the future.

This movie was just plain awful. If I were Heather Graham I'd be ashamed of it on many levels. I kept watching to see when the "point" of the movie would come, but then the credits rolled and I realized there wasn't a point.
