Tod Dem Zuschauer (1984)

Tod Dem Zuschauer (1984)
Member Rating:
In this avant-garde spoof of the audience who sits through boringly long movies, as well as of the boringly long movies themselves, director and writer Vlado Kristl has created a film that only the dedicated, red-eyed movie buff could love with all his/her heart -- but others could certainly appreciate. When a static camera is set up in front of a man waiting on a Hamburg street corner, he moves a little back and forth, his dog waits for him to go somewhere or do something, and everyone waits for either to go somewhere and do something -- but even Godot was early compared to this. The film then segues into further scenes that send up the cinematic world with wry humor. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi
