A group of filmmakers looking for a lost native tribe instead find a man-eating monster in this thriller. Terri Flores (Jennifer Lopez) is a documentary filmmaker on assignment to make a film about the Shirishama Indians of the Amazon, a mysterious tribe known as "the People of the Mists." As Terri and her crew -- cameraman Danny Rich (Ice Cube), sound recordist Gary Dixon (Owen Wilson), anthropologist Steve Cale (Eric Stoltz), production manager Denise Kahlberg (Kari Wuhrer), and host Warren Westridge (Jonathan Hyde) -- head down the river, they discover a man whose boat has sunk and desperately needs rescue. Paul Sarone (Jon Voight), the mysterious stranger that they save from the waters, claims to know something of the Shirishama and says he will take the crew to them. Instead, he guides the group to the hiding place of the fearsome Anaconda, a gigantic snake that swallows a man whole, vomits him up, and eats him again (no small accomplishment, that). The snake is worth a fortune if captured, but can a creature so dangerous be captured at all? ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Re-watched this film after not watching since my days in junior high school. I have to say I still enjoyed this films campy plot and formula. The SFX managed to still look good this time around, although it was funny realizing that there were no iPods on the screen. Coolest part for rewatching this film was seeing Eric Stoltz sport my alma mater...GO UCSB! Definite goodie to watch from the late 90s.

I went and saw the Sneak Preview of this movie for 1 reason and 1 reason only. NOT JLO, its because i am terrified of snakes. I cannot stand them, do not like them, and the fact that they have a giant anaconda who likes to eat snotty english people for dinner, makes me want to curl up into a ball and suck my thumb. Granted the CGI isnt that great, but the animatronics are not bad at all. There is a lot of fun in this movie, and a lot of....GET OUT OF THE WATER, ARE YOU STUPID? scenes. I love movies where you want to interact because it is a fear of yours. Plus the icing on the cake, if you watch while they are leaving a particular place...the waterfall is going back up instead of coming down.....worth watching just to catch that one infamous cheap part of trying to save a buck!
