This is one of the coolest, sexiest noir thrillers I've ever seen. Its' realism is probably the film's most salient feature, alternately disturbing and strikingly beautiful. The cinematography stylishly takes you from sleek decadence and gritty favelas in Rio, to the desolate squalor of rural Bolivia. The dialogue is lean and vivid, and the cast all deliver impressive performances. Sandra Brennan's description of Coyote as "a raging vigilante" is ham-fisted. He is rather a thinking man's Charles Bronson, drawn into an underworld journey amid international arms dealers, hired assassins, and narcotraffickers after one of his photographic models is murdered and mutilated. He seeks out the tutelage of knifemaster Tcheky Karyo (aptly named "Hermes") after he's very nearly stabbed to death and his girlfriend brutally raped. The knife scenes are amazingly realistic, and almost erotic in their intensity and tangolike grace. You won’t forget this movie. If only they’d release it on DVD…

Had a off-the-air VHS copy for years now, and cannot wait for a DVD release. Great cinematography and a dark plot with accurate knife fighting techniques. Great characters and casting. Bolivian high-desert is stark but captivating. PLEASE release it on DVD!
