Universal Soldier: Regeneration director John Hyams once again gives the long-running action franchise a rejuvenating adrenaline boost with this sequel centering on a haunted soldier who vows vengeance on Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) and his army of superpowered henchmen after seeing them kill his family in cold blood. Dolph Lundgren co-stars. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Fans of Van Damme and Lundgren will be disappointed with this. They both have minimal screen time and very little to do with the story line - if you can call it that. A convoluted plot and endless violence. Strictly for boys!
Nothing happens. He drifts through the movie killing universal soldiers and anyone who gets in his way which is frustrating because there's no plot. Appearances by Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren don't do much other than remind the audience it's Universal Soldier. Long, slow, and boring monotonous duels to the death. Rent Haywire instead or previous Universal Soldier movies.
