It is probably hard to appreciate this original Bourne saga after you have been taken on the wild, action packed adventure with Matt Damon. There is simply no comparison. In all fairness, this is 1988, and the concept of the story is intriguing. The movie is a bit drawn out, slows at times, and appears a bit hammy but worth watching to see the differences between the original and the remake.

This film doesn't really grab you, and while Chamberlain and Smith are OK, they may have been somewhat miscast in their roles. I would like to visit the parts of Europe where gunplay continues uninterrupted by any police presence, and I would also like to lay my hands on one of those revolvers that is chambered for eight or nine rounds.

Well, I have to say it was terrible. Long, drawn out, like watching a bad soap opera. I guess thats why it was "made for TV". Richard Chamberlain as Jason Bourne is terrible. He isn't believable, and he isn't in anyway heroic, I found myself wishing the "bad guys" would just catch him.
