After years of suppressing her bipolar disorder, Helen suffers a crippling emotional breakdown. Subsequently hospitalized, she befriends Mathilda, who offers a sense of understanding and emotional solace that her family cannot. But in time Helen's suffering becomes overwhelming, and she begins to believe that death is the only solution. Exactly what the synopsis/trailer says its about "Mental Illness"..Although the acting was superb - way too depressing for me..About a mother/wife/music teacher who just can't cope in this world due to mental illness..Just was not for me..Dark Movie..
Get ready for High way Drama if you watch this movie. Ashley Judd's acting is on point. For what it is, you get a very decent movie. This just hit me as way too depressing. It's both the charm of the movie, and the weakness, because there's nothing else for the movie to fall back on. Good enough to watch....and I'm sure this will actually hit home with some people. Rent with caution.
