John Cusack plays Myrl Redding, a horse trader who locks horns with a rancher who has callously mistreated two of his horses, as well as their handler, a Crow Indian. When the law gives Myrl no justice, he is forced to take matters into his own hands, leading to a cycle of violence and chaos. The Jack Bull was written by Cusack's father, Dick, who also plays a small part as the jury foreman in the film. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
Everyone I ask does not know this movie. What a shame. One of the best westerns ever!!! Cusack and Goodman are awesome as well as great acting throughtout the cast. The cinematography is amazing. A well made film!
This is a powerful, engaging movie. It is a very different role for John Cusack and he plays it credibly.
It is remarkable how so little has changed regarding the integrity of the sheriff's office, attorneys, and politicians between the frontier days and today.
